How to Fix a Toshiba DMI
A common issue with Toshiba laptops is that they are programmed with the incorrect Desktop Management Interface (DMI) code. The DMI code is programmed into each motherboard so that when a restore disk is used, it recognizes the motherboard and restores the system to its full state. Without the proper DMI code installed, the restore disk does not see the motherboard as being the correct one that the restore disk was designed to service.
