Instructions for a PowerShot A630
Released in 2006, the Canon PowerShot A630 is compact digital camera designed for individuals who want a digital camera they can easily carry around with them, but that will still create quality pictures. At the heart of the Canon PowerShot A630 is an 8 megapixel digital sensor that records images through the camera's 4x optical zoom lens. The camera will record still images and video.

Open the battery compartment located on the bottom of the camera and install four new or freshly charged AA batteries.

Turn the camera on by pressing the "On/Off" button located on the top of the camera, and rotating the round exposure mode dial to select the shooting mode in which you want to shoot.

Flip the 2.5 inch LCD (liquid crystal display) screen around so you can view it. The Canon PowerShot A630's LCD screen is on a hinge that also swivels 360 degrees, allowing the screen to rest against the camera when not in use, thus preventing damage.

Hold the camera to you eye, looking at the screen or through the optical viewfinder.

Press the shutter release half way down to activate the camera.

Adjust the zoom lens by moving the round collar dial that surrounds the shutter release until the lens extends and fills the viewfinder or LCD display with the subject you are photographing.

Press the shutter release the rest of the way to take the picture.
