Instructions

    • 1

Designate a clean, well ventilated work area (a counter or table works great). Unplug printer and locate the laser cartridge. The top of the laser cartridge will look like a flat circle about the size of a coaster. Use a screwdriver to carefully pry the outer edge of the cartridge until it pops out. Carefully remove the cartridge and place on the surface of working area.

    • 2

Put on gloves and mask. Refilling a laser cartridge can get a little messy due to handling toner, which is a very fine powder that gives ink its color. Turn cartridge on its side and make a small mark with a pen about 3/4 of an inch below the top of the toner. Drill a hole with a diameter roughly the size of a dime.

    • 3

Leave the cartridge on its side and insert the funnel into the hole. Shake the toner slightly in order to release any built up pressure. Carefully pour the toner into the funnel until the cartridge is full. Remove the funnel, wipe the surface clean and apply a square piece of tape over the hole. Set the cartridge right side up.

Locate the sensor chip on top of the cartridge. The chip lets the printer know when toner is running low and needs to be replaced. Pull the paper backing off of the new chip, revealing a sticky surface, and stick right on top of the old chip. The new chip will notify the printer that cartridge has been refilled. Place cartridge back into the printer, close the flap and plug in. You are now ready to continue using your Samsung printer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not handle toner without proper safety precautions. Toner is a very fine powder that can cause respiratory problems if accidentally inhaled.
