How to Recycle Okidata Fuses
Electrical fuses, whether from Okidata or any other electronics manufacturer, represent some of the 75 percent of electrical waste that ends up in landfills every year. While some municipalities don't require you to recycle fuses and will tell you it's OK to dispose of them in the trash, there are places to recycle them and keep them out of the landfill. You might have to do a little digging to find them.

1
Find a recycling program that accepts fuses. The first place to check is your city or county municipal waste program, which may offer electronics recycling at certain times or during certain days of the week. Your city or county website should have a page dedicated to solid waste and recycling. If your local area doesn't offer recycling of fuses, you can still participate in a mail-in program like the ones offered by Cooper Bussmann or Relectric Supply Company (see Resources). Contact the one of your choice and get directions for mailing in your materials.

2
Package the fuses for transport. If your municipal waste system allows drop-off of fuses, all you'll have to do is put them in a box or bag securely enough to take them to the drop-off location. If you must mail them in, be sure to give the package enough padding so the fuses don't get broken.

Mail or drop off the fuses at the recycling center of your choice.

Tips & Warnings
Electronics recyclers sometimes allow you to trade in your old materials for new ones, so if you use a mail-in program, see if they have new Okidata fuses for you to trade.
