People use facial toners to give skin a more vibrant, healthy glow. Homemade toners are made from recipes that combine ingredients such as flower petals, fruit, vegetables, alcohol, honey, eggs, witch hazel, oatmeal, yogurt and vinegar.       Use bagged or loose tea.

      Bring one cup of water to a boil and add one tea bag of green tea or a teaspoon of loose tea. Allow to steep for five minutes. Remove bag and strain tea leaves so only clear liquid remains. Allow to cool before use.

      Store the tea in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use the green tea as a facial toner by dabbing it onto clean skin with a cotton ball or pad.

      Substitute green tea for water in homemade skin toner recipes. Or add a drop of green tea extract, available in nutrition and vitamin stores, to your facial cream and toner.
