Instructions

    • 1

Measure existing baggage cart's bungee cords; carefully measure the cord's length and diameter. Measure the length of the existing hardware.

    • 2

If you would like to improve the baggage cart's bungee cords, write down the desired measurements and hardware types. Consider cords with a different diameter, length or hardware type.

    • 3

If the existing hardware is in good condition, try to remove it from the existing cord for future use. If this is not possible, purchase new hardware.

    • 4

Purchase bungee cord in bulk or by the foot, making sure to get at least 12 inches more than desired. Purchase two hog rings in the correct diameter for each cord.

    • 5

Add 2 inches to the measurement of the desired bungee cord length. Cut the cord to this length, using the utility knife. Prevent fraying by sealing the edges with the lighter.

    • 6

Fold each end of the cord over 1 inch and fasten closed with a hog ring and pliers.

    • 7

Attach bungee hardware securely using pliers. The new cord can now be used for a baggage cart.
