How to Troubleshoot Xerox WorkCentre Pro
Xerox's WorkCentre Pro machines have the capabilities to act not only as a copier, but also as a printer, scanner and fax machine. Because the device performs a number of functions, problems with the WorkCentre Pro can be more disruptive to your work group's productivity. Instead of randomly trying to fix things on the device, you must first start by troubleshooting any problems to discern what is the cause of the problem so you do not waste time and resources fixing what is not broken.

Automatic Document Feeder Damages Documents
-
1
Remove the original document from the document feeder's tray. Inspect the document for any tears, creases, staples, paper clips or bent corners that would cause damage to the document.
-
2
Scan the documents by loading face-down directly on the scanning glass if the documents do not match the three document sizes supported by the feeder. The feeder will work with legal-size documents measuring 8.5 by 14 inches, letter-size documents measuring 8.5 by 11 inches and A4 size documents measuring 8.3 by 11.7 inches.
-
-
3
Pull up on the edge of the document feeder's cover to open it. Pull out any scraps of paper or foreign objects such as paper clips from the inside of the feeder, then rotate and clean the rollers with a damp microfiber cloth.
-
4
Swing the feeder's cover closed and press on it until it clicks into place. Open the scanner's lid and clean the scanning glass and the entire inside of the scanner's cover with a clean and damp microfiber cloth.
-
5
Close the scanner's cover and press the "Stop" button on the control panel. Unplug the power cord from the back of the machine, wait 10 seconds, then plug the cord back into the machine.

6
Press the "Stop" button on the machine's control panel and unplug the power cord from the machine. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug the power cord back into the device.
-
7
Inspect the power cord to make sure it is snugly plugged into the back of the device and the wall outlet. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or backup battery sources and plug it directly into a wall outlet, or switch it to another wall outlet than the one you were using.
-
8
Plug a lamp into the wall outlet and turn it on to confirm if the outlet is working properly. If the lamp does not turn on, contact an electrician to look at the building's electrical system.
