How to Put Tulle on a Vase

Tulle can be used to adorn a vase.

Tulle is a loosely woven fabric that can be added onto crafts projects to make them look more ethereal and feminine. You can also use tulle to give an ordinary object around your home a new look. Tulle can be put onto a vase, to either enhance a bouquet of flowers or to simply decorate the vase itself. Applying tulle to a vase requires following a few steps to ensure that the tulle will adhere properly.

Things You'll Need

• Hot glue gun
• Hot glue stick
• Tulle
• Tassel ribbon

Instructions

1. Place a glass or ceramic vase onto a flat surface such as a table top.

2. Insert a hot glue stick into the back of a hot glue gun, and plug the gun in. Allow it to heat up for 10 minutes.

3. Cut tulle fabric into 3- to 4-inch wide, 12- to 18-inch long strips.

4. Squeeze a line of hot glue onto the base of the vase.

5. Wrap a strip of tulle around the base, pressing the top edge of the tulle against the hot glue. This will leave the bottom of the tulle loose. Give the glue a few minutes to cool and harden.

6. Squeeze a line of hot glue about 1 inch above the first line of glue.

7. Wrap another strip of tulle around the second line of hot glue, pressing the top edge of the tulle onto the hot glue. This will leave the bottom edge of the tulle to hang freely as before, and overlap over the first piece of glued tulle. Allow the glue to cool and harden.

8. Continue adding layers of tulle in this manner until you reach the top of the vase.

9. Squeeze a line of hot glue around the top rim of the vase.

10. Wrap a tassel ribbon around the top of the vase, and allow the glue to cool completely. This will make the top of the vase look cleaner and more professional.

11. Cut off any excess tulle, tassel ribbon or hot glue strings.
