Instructions

    • 1

Wash your crockery in warm water to remove dirt, dust, debris and food particles. Use a mild dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge so you don't damage the finish.

    • 2

Dry your crockery with a soft, lint-free cloth.

    • 3

Find a place to store your crockery. Pieces you use frequently should be easily accessible. In the book "All New Hints From Heloise," the author recommends storing crockery in a plastic bin or box inside a lower cabinet so you can easily slide them in and out when you need them. She suggests using a drawer to store crockery. A china cabinet or hutch can also be used to store and display crockery.

    • 4

Place a napkin, paper towel or cloth between crockery pieces when stacking them. This helps protect them from becoming chipped, worn and broken. Heloise recommends using handkerchiefs or fabric squares between crockery pieces during storage.

    • 5

Do not hang mugs and other crockery by a handle. This can lead to breakage of the handle. Stack mugs and other crockery with handles together, separating each piece with a napkin or cloth.

    • 6

Cover crockery that is used infrequently to protect it from dust. Use plastic bags, or appliance covers to do this.
