How to Clean Fusible Fleece Adhesive off Iron
Fusible fleece is a fleece fabric that contains an adhesive. It is commonly used to make fleece blankets or fleece-lined clothing. Simply place the desired fabric on top of it and iron the two together. However, if the iron touches any part of the adhesive fleece, the sticky residue can be left behind. This residue can be removed using a sole plate cleaning cream. A sole plate cleaning cream is specially designed to clean an iron's sole plate. In addition to removing residue left from adhesive fabrics and adhesive transfers, it also removes burned-on fabrics and residue from starches. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Turn off the iron. Unplug it from the electrical outlet.
-
2
Allow the iron to cool so it is warmer than room temperature but cool enough to touch.
-
-
3
Squirt a marble-sized ball of a sole plate cleaning cream into a soft cloth or clean rag. Rub the cream into the fusible fleece adhesive. When applying the cream, steam or a smoke-like substance may appear. This is due to the cool cream touching the hot surface and is completely normal.
-
4
Use the polishing cloth to rub away the adhesive and cream.
-
5
Repeat the process until all adhesive is removed. This may take multiple attempts.
