1
Visit a website that provides full-page letters and print each of the letters you will need to spell "Happy Birthday." If you would like to personalize the banner, print the letters of the birthday celebrant's name as well.
-
2
Decorate inside the printed letters with markers. Use colors that match your other birthday decorations. You can color the letters completely or make patterns such as stripes, polka dots or designs inside of them.

3
Apply glue in the places where you would like to embellish the banner with glitter. For example, you could outline all of the letters with glitter or make small dots of glitter on the blank paper around each letter.
-
4
Sprinkle glitter over the areas where you had applied glue. Wait one minute and shake the excess glitter onto a blank sheet of paper. Roll the blank sheet of paper into a tube to get the glitter back into the container.
-
5
Lay out the letters in the correct order to spell "Happy Birthday."
-
6
Tape the letters together with clear tape. You can either run a piece of tape all the way along the seam between the letters or use three small pieces of tape at the top, middle and bottom of the seam.

Tips & Warnings
If you are confident in your artistic abilities, draw the letter outlines by hand instead of downloading and printing them. This will give your banner more of a homemade feel and allow you to freely design the letters how you want them to look.
