How to Set Up 10mm Reloading Dies

Reloading your own ammunition can save money normally spent on buying boxes of live rounds. Reloading is also a hobby for many gun enthusiasts, and you can eventually sell your own ammunition if you choose to make a profit. Reloading dies come in many sizes to suit a specific caliber. 10 mm reloading dies are set up in much the same way as any other reloading die. Note that for all reloading purposes, the case setup must first be for resizing and de-capping.

Things You'll Need

  • Reloading press
  • 10 mm 3-die set
  • 10 mm casings
  • Case lube

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the case holder into the press with the open end facing outward at 7 o'clock. Lower the arm to raise the press ram. Screw in the 10 mm resizing die until it contacts the case holder.

    • 2

Screw the lock ring (index collar) down until the ring touches the press. Raise the arm to lower the press ram.

    • 3

Lubricate the case with case lube. Slide the case into the case holder. Ensure that it fits properly. Raise the ram until the case contacts the die. Apply pressure to the case to resize and de-cap.

Tips & Warnings

  • The set up procedure for the reloading die is similar to other reloading techniques such as case neck sizing, de-capping, or seating and crimping. Note that hand trimming the case may be required prior to setting up the die.

  • Never exceed the proper amount of powder needed for a specific case indicated on a reloading chart.

  • Only reload ammo under proper specifications.
