With all of the supplements on the market promising to boost muscle and help a person lose fat, it can be easy to lose sight of the simple supplements. Protein powder is one of the oldest and most commonly used supplements to help build muscle. One type of protein powder is "Muscle Milk," produced by Cytosport. Muscle Milk is simple to use.

  • Cup
  • Milk or other beverage of choice

Instructions

  1. Mixing

      Pour your milk or other beverage into your cup. You will want to pour the liquid before the powder to help it mix better.

      Scoop out two scoops of protein powder from the Muscle Milk canister.

      Dump the protein powder carefully into your cup.

      Stir the mixture with your fork for at least 1 minute. You may wish to do it longer to ensure that the powder does not clump.

      Consume Muscle Milk first thing in the morning. This option is best for those with busy mornings or those who hit the gym in the early hours.

      Consume Muscle Milk immediately before a workout. This option is best for those who spend significant amounts of time in the gym. The extra calories and protein will provide energy and muscle-building nutrients.

      Consume Muscle Milk immediately after working out. This option is good for those who have intense workouts that consist of compound lifts. The body is sensitive to protein after workouts and the Muscle Milk shake will help shuttle the protein to the body to help repair muscle tissue damaged from heavy workouts.

      Consume Muscle Milk before bed. This option is good for those who are trying to build muscle. By consuming a high calorie protein shake before bed, you can prevent catabolism (this is when your body starts eating muscle for fuel).
