How to Install a Lanier Model 435 Copier
The Lanier model 435 copier, manufactured by Ricoh, is a 35-page-per-minute color copier. Because it is digital, it can be configured to be a copier, printer, fax machine and network scanner. The 435 can handle paper up to 11 by 17 inches and has full duplexing, or two-sided, copying capabilities. The Lanier 435 needs to be installed correctly to perform with as few service problems as possible.

1
Choose the location for installation. You need to make sure that the space you choose is large enough for a service technician to comfortably work on the unit. Avoid areas that are very dusty or dirty or are subject to drastic temperature changes. Also, avoid installing the 435 in a humid area.
-
2
Clean the area. Dust and mop or vacuum the floor and remove as much dust and dirt from the area as is possible. The 435's cooling fan draws in air from around the device. If the area around the copier is dirty, that dirt will be drawn into the copier.

Test the power. Using your electricity meter, make sure that the outlet is suited for the 435. The 435 needs 120 volts, 12 amps and 60 Hz. If your outlet is out of this range, either have an electrician remedy the problem or choose another place.

4
Level the device. When installing the Lanier 435, it is important to make sure the device is as level as possible. Use a level to check this. If the copier is not level, if will jam more and have other problems.
