Instructions

1
Remove the item gently from the other item by pulling it off slowly.
-
2
Apply heat to the tape with a hairdryer set on a medium setting. Hold the hairdryer a few inches above the tape and move it back and forth for several seconds. The heat will soften the adhesive.
-
-
3
Cut a piece of fishing line a six inches long. Hold one end of the fishing line with one hand and the other end with your free hand. Pull the fishing line tight.
-
4
Slide the fishing line -- while still pulling it tight -- between the 3M self-adhesive double sided tape and the surface it is stuck on. The fishing line will act as a knife and cut the tape off the surface.
-
5
Repeat step 4 several times until the tape is removed. Apply more heat with the hairdryer if you meet resistance.
-
6
Dampen a cloth with water-displacing spray. Rub the surface gently with the cloth to remove the sticky adhesive that the double-sided tape leaves behind.
