How to Glue Corks to the Ceiling

How to Glue Corks to the Ceiling thumbnail
You can reuse corks by decorating with them.

If you often drink beverages that use corks as stoppers, you may want to use the corks instead of throwing them into a garbage can. One solution is to use the corks as part of your home decor. For example, you can line a ceiling with a sea of corks to make it look unusual and eccentric. It is helpful to stick to a few guidelines in order to glue the corks onto your ceiling and have them remain there.

Instructions

    • 1

Position a ladder in one corner of the room you want to decorate so that you will be able to reach the ceiling easily.

    • 2

Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun and plug it in. Allow it to heat up for a few minutes.

    • 3

Squeeze a line of hot glue along the length of a cork. Be careful.

    • 4

Press the side of the cork with the glue on it against the ceiling, starting in the corner and making sure that the cork is parallel to the wall's edge.

    • 5

Squeeze a line of glue onto another cork lengthwise, and place it next to the first one, end to end.

    • 6

Continue adding more corks in this manner and work along the edge of the wall to complete one row of corks.

    • 7

Begin again at the same corner and add a second row of corks next to the first, gluing them on in the same manner.

    • 8

Fill in the entire ceiling using the same technique.
