How to Troubleshoot a G-1050 Multimedia Speaker System
The G-1050 multimedia speaker system is an audio speaker system designed for computer audio and video use for film, video games, music and day-to-day use. While fixing your G-1050 speaker system may be complicated and out of reach for most consumers, there are things you can do to help diagnose your problems and fix minor problems with your system. Internal repairs should not be attempted unless you have a strong background in speaker repair.

1
Check the power cable and make sure it is plugged into the wall or a working surge protector. Swap the power cable out with one you know is working or test it with a multimeter for continuity. All multimeters are different -- make sure you read the instructions on how to use yours if you are unsure.
-
2
Test the cables connecting your computer or audio devices like an mp3 player or CD player with a cable tester. Alternately, you can test the cables with devices that you know are working or use cables that you know to be fully functional if you do not have access to a cable tester.

3
Locate the volume control on your speaker system and make sure it is turned up beyond its lowest point. Check to make sure the output from your sound card or computer is not muted and turned up as well. Sometimes computers automatically mute the audio output when a device is plugged into or unplugged from the system.
-
4
Move your speaker system near a device that you know is working, such as a home CD player or DVD player, and test it with headphones or another set of speakers and amplifier. It is possible that your computer's sound card or audio output is to blame for audio problems and not your speaker system.
-
5
Test your speakers individually to locate a damaged speaker. You can do this by simply disconnecting the speakers one at a time or by moving the audio balance around in the audio utility area of your computer. Where to locate this information will vary based on the program, operating system and type of computer you are using.

Tips & Warnings
Never open the components of your speaker system if your product is still under warranty. Opening the speakers may void the warranty, and if you don't know how to properly fix the system once you remove the casing, you may do more damage than good. Seek help from a trained professional technician.
