How to Roll Up a Solar Blanket
A solar blanket is used to harness the sun's rays to heat your swimming pool. Most solar covers are lightweight and resemble bubble wrap. They lie on top of your pool's water and help hold heat in and prevent leaves and other trash from entering your pool when it is not in use. The blanket is removed right before you get into your pool. The best way to remove your solar blanket is with a reel, but can be pulled off by hand. Does this Spark an idea?

Hand Removal

1
Ask a buddy to help you remove the cover. The wet solar blanket will be hard to manage for one person. Both of you should grab a corner opposite from one another.
-
2
Pull each corner tightly and begin folding the cover towards the other side of the pool. Turn down the corners every 2 to 3 feet until you reach the end of the pool.
-
-
3
Pull the cover out of the water and pull it to the side of the pool for storage.
Solar Blanket Reel
-
4
Clamp the solar blanket to the blanket reel using the clamps. Slide the blanket into the clamp and push the clamp on top of the edge of the blanket.
-
5
Turn the crank in a motion moving away from the pool. If you are facing the pool and the crank is on the right-hand side, you will turn it in a counterclockwise motion. If the crank is on the left-hand side you will turn it in a clockwise direction.
-
6
Roll the reel to the side so that it is out of the way.
