How to Create Kids' Coupons

Kids often can't afford to purchase gifts for their friends, siblings or parents during the holidays or at birthdays. Creating a coupon book is a good way for them to be creative while at the same time giving a gift to a loved one. These coupons can be for anything they wish: back rubs, helping around the house, or even a day of no complaining. They can make as many coupons as they want and bind them into a little book. Every time the recipient redeems a coupon, the gift will be appreciated.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut pieces of paper to an appropriate size. Two inches tall by 5 inches wide is a good coupon size. You can use plain white paper, or go more colorful with construction paper or card stock.

    • 2

Write out your coupons. Free back rubs, walking the dog, emptying the dishwasher or doing the laundry are good ideas to start with. Try to think of things that the recipient will really enjoy.

    • 3

Draw a picture of yourself doing the activity or simply decorate with stickers.

    • 4

Lay the coupons on top of each other, facing up. They can be in any order you want.

    • 5

Place to staples next to each other on the left side of the coupons. This will hold them all together, but still allow them to be easily pulled apart for redeeming.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't forget an expiration date, to make it look official. You can also write "Does not Expire" on the coupon.

  • Five to 10 coupons is a good amount for a coupon book.

  • Be careful with the scissors and stapler, as they are sharp.
