How to Get Refunds From Phone Companies
Nobody wants to lose money, no matter how small the amount. Telephone companies understand this. For this reason, there are protocols in place that will allow you to request refunds from phone companies. You cannot get refunds for "ring no answer" telephone calls or "busy signal" calls. However, you can get a refund if you don't get what you pay for. This can be done with pay phones, mobile phones and home telephones.

Pay Phones

1
Dial "Repair/Refund" number that is listed on the pay phone. This should be done as soon as money is lost in the phone. Do not make another call before dialing the operator.
-
2
Advise the operator that you tried to make a call. Advise her that the call was unsuccessful and that you would like a refund for the money you lost.
-
-
3
Provide the operator with your mailing address. By doing so, the operator can put in a request to have a refund check mailed to you in the amount of the money that was lost in the machine.
Mobile & Home Phone
-
4
Call customer service from the phone line for which you are requesting a refund.
-
5
Advise the customer service representative what happened. For instance, you dialed information and were disconnected before you were able to receive the number. Perhaps you experienced a dropped call before anyone answered.
-
6
Wait for the customer service representative to issue a refund to your account. For dropped calls, the representative will generally refund minutes for the dropped call instead of money.
-
7
Ask the customer service representative for a confirmation number. By doing so, you can refer to the confirmation number if you receive your phone bill and notice that the refund was not issued.
