How to Find an Inmate in Georgia
It is just a fact of life that not all people follow the law all the time. If you know someone who has at some point broken the law in the state of Georgia, they may be currently doing time inside a Georgia state penitentiary or correctional facility. If you would like to track down this person, then you need to go through the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Visit the Georgia Department of Corrections "Offender Information" website page. From here, the state of Georgia has set up a process for finding current and past inmates.

Click the "Georgia Offender Search" option from the menu on the right hand side of the screen.

Read the Georgia Department of Corrections Internet Services Disclaimer Agreement. If you agree to the terms of usage, click "I agree -- Go to the Inmate Query."

Choose a method to search for the inmate by. You can search by Georgia Department of Corrections ID or Case Number, or you can use the "Advanced Search" feature that allows you to enter information such as name, alias, gender, age range and sentence status. Click "Next" to continue.

Select either "Only Offenders Currently Incarcerated" or "All Offenders, Past and Present." Click "Next" to continue.

Scroll through the records to find the inmate you're looking for. Click "Next" after making your selection.

Scroll through the list of records you see on your screen. You can click on the record to find more information, including where the inmate is currently locked up, to help you determine if the record is for the Georgia inmate you're trying to find.
