How to Mount a PC Monitor
A mounted monitor can improve your work performance by raising it to the proper height. Without having to strain your neck to view the screen, you will release tension on your neck and spine, allowing for better blood flow and increased circulation, as well as eliminating headaches caused from strain.
Things You'll Need

1
Make sure all of the mounting pieces are accounted for. The instructions that accompanied the mounting bracket should include a list of the pieces that should be in the box. If any pieces are missing, contact the store the bracket was bought from, or contact the company directly for the needed parts.

2
Find an appropriate location. PC monitors should not be mounted to a far wall unless the DVI or VGA cable is long enough to reach the screen. Extended length VGA cables are available, but consider the visibility of a distant screen as well. Unless the screen is quite large, the text may be difficult to read. Also check to make sure that the wall can hold the weight of the monitor. A stud finder may be needed to ensure that the monitor is attached securely.

3
Mark a pencil line across the wall with a level as a guide for screw placement. Neglecting to make sure that the screw holes are level may result in the PC monitor being crooked.
-
4
Drill a hole into the wall for each screw. Depending on the mounting bracket screw size, the pilot hole drill bit will need to be adjusted so that the drill hole is smaller than the shank, or the center shaft (not taking into account the threads), of the screw. If the pilot hole is too large, the screw threads will not embed into the wall properly, leaving a chance for movement and weakness.
-
5
Insert a Phillips screwdriver bit into the power drill and screw the bracket to the wall, using the prepared pilot holes. Screw the bracket to the wall tight enough so that it is securely fastened.
-
6
Detach the table stand from the bottom of the PC monitor, or if the monitor is so designed, fold the stand to it's closed position.
-
7
Connect the power cord to AC IN and then attach the rear cover if the screen will be moved away from the wall while it is mounted with an arm bracket. Remove the rear screen screws and insert spacers into the screw holes to finish mounting the monitor.
