Instructions

    • 1

Choose a font of your choice on your computer. Set your printer to print the monogram letter of your choice in each of the four quadrants of your paper. Print the letters using a colored printer paper or decorative scrapbook paper as the background to the monograms.

    • 2

Measure and trace a 3 1/2-inch square around each printed letter. Cut out the traced squares using pinking shears.

    • 3

Lay each of the printed paper squares with the right side facing up. Lightly spray each square with clear acrylic spray sealer to seal the printer ink. Allow the spray acrylic to dry and repeat with another light coat. This will prevent the printer ink from smearing and bleeding when applying the decoupage medium.

    • 4

Apply a layer of decoupage medium over the top surface of four, 4 1/2-inch square wall tiles using a sponge brush. Center a monogrammed paper square on each tile. Smooth and press out wrinkles and bubbles. Allow the decoupage medium to dry.

    • 5

Apply a layer of decoupage medium over the top of each paper monogrammed square and extending to the edges of the tiles. Allow the medium to dry. Spray the monogrammed surfaces with a clear acrylic spray to protect the coasters from moisture.

    • 6

Lay a sheet of 1/16-inch thick cork on your work surface. Place a tile on the cork and trace around it. Repeat for a total of four squares. Cut out each square just inside the traced lines using scissors.

    • 7

Lay each of the monogrammed coasters on your work surface with the back side facing up. Use a sponge brush to apply craft glue to the entire back surface of each coaster. Center the cork squares on the back of the coasters. Allow the glue to dry.
