Instructions

  1. General Troubleshooting

    • 1

Check your home's fuse or breaker box for blown fuses or tripped breakers. Reset tripped breakers or replace blown fuses, if needed.

    • 2

Refill the rinse agent dispenser. Dishes will not dry properly if the rinse agent dispenser is empty.

    • 3

Place the control dial in the "Off" position if the detergent cup lid will not latch.

    Water in Tub

    • 4

Determine how much water is in the tub. A small amount of water is normal; it is needed to keep the seal lubricated.

    • 5

Remove the cover on the air gap and clean it with a toothpick, if applicable. The air gap is often located on the countertop over the dishwasher.

    • 6

If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposal, turn on the disposal to empty it. Turn on the kitchen sink faucets to make sure the sink is draining properly. If the sink is clogged, pour liquid drain-cleaner down the drain to remove clogs.

    Suds in Tub

    • 7

Open the dishwasher door and allow suds to evaporate. Pour 1 gallon of cold water into the bottom of the tub. Close and latch the dishwasher. Turn the control dial to the drain portion of a cycle to pump the water out and remove the remaining suds.

    • 8

Use a detergent designed for an automatic dishwasher to prevent sudsing.

    • 9

Remove spilled rinse agent with a damp cloth.

    Dishes Not Clean

    • 10

Increase the temperature on your home's water heater to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

    • 11

Turn on a nearby water faucet. If the water pressure is less than normal, turn off the dishwasher. Wait until the water pressure has returned to normal before using the dishwasher.

    • 12

Remove the air gap cover and clean the air gap with a toothpick.

    • 13

Load the dishwasher so that dishes are not blocking the detergent dispenser or wash arm.
