How to Make Racks for Pots & Pans
If your kitchen needs more cabinet space, adding a pot rack is an easy solution. Pots and pans shoved underneath a cabinet is a nuisance and unpleasant to look at. A pot rack will add structure to the clutter. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 3-inch wood screws
- Non-pressure-treated 2X4 lumber
- Screwdriver
- Chain
- Screw hooks
- Paint or stain

Measure the length and width of the desired rack. Mark measurements on the lumber with a pencil, and use the saw to cut the boards. There are two boards of the desired length and two boards of the desired width.

Screw the four pieces of wood together forming a square. Next measure across the inside of the frame to get the correct measurement of the cross beams. Measure and cut three cross beams. Attach the beams from the sides using evenly placed screws.

Paint or stain the rack and let it dry. Add screw hooks to the top of each corner. More screw hooks may be added to the bottom of the rack.

Find studs in the ceiling and connect four heavy duty screw hooks. Add chains to the four screw hooks at the top of the rack and attach to the ceiling screw hooks.
