Press the "Power" button on the remote. The picture should appear. If there is no sound, press the mute button to see whether the sound returns. If there is still no sound, turn up the volume with the remote control until sound is audible. If you are using speakers with your Picasso HDTV, make sure they are switched on.

Check the video input connections and settings if you are have video-quality issues with you Picasso HDTV. If abnormal colors appear on the screen, make sure that the yellow prong of the A/V cable is not damaged or broken. A broken video cable can inhibit the Picasso's color spectrum. If the images look distorted, change the aspect ratio to 4:3 for optimal proportions. If the picture on the TV is distorted, it might be catching radio interference from another electronic device. Move any nearby electronics away from the TV or change the location of the TV itself.

If certain programs seem more "noisy" or pixelated than others, it has more to do with the TV signal than the TV. Older programs are enlarged to fit on HDTVs. As a consequence, those shows look less appealing. In these cases, often purely white pixels will remain on the screen. VisionQuest says this is an inherit hazard of HD television that will be worked out as HD resoluton becomes the industry standard.
