How to Refill an HP93 Color Cartridge

HP's 93 is a tri-color inkjet printer cartridge that can be used in several of HP's home desktop models. Refilling this cartridge requires injecting three types of color ink into your empty cartridge. Though seemingly challenging, the refill process is rather basic and can be accomplished by anyone with the most basic components of an inkjet refill kit. Once filled with the three colors, the HP 93 will perform like a new cartridge.

    • 2

Take the empty HP 93 out of the printer and remove the label from the top surface of the cartridge.

Orient the cartridge so that the two raised plastic ridges on the top of the cartridge are closest to you and the final raised plastic ridge is farthest from you. To the top right of the right plastic ridge is the cyan refilling hole. The magenta refilling hole is to the top left of the left plastic ridge and the yellow refilling hole is directly below the plastic ridge farthest from you.

Insert the three syringes into the appropriate refilling hole, then release the ink.

    • 5

Return the HP 93 to the printer.
