How to Compose an Interview Thank You Note
If you're searching for a way to stand out among the other candidates in a job interview, write a brief thank you note to your interviewer. This little courtesy is may land you a job. Remember to write the card the day after your interview, while the salient details of your interview are still fresh in your mind.

Ask for your interviewer's business card during the interview, if one is not offered to you. Use the address and name on the business card.

Write a draft of your thank-you note on scrap paper.

Compose a few sentences on your scrap paper. These sentences may be out of order and incomplete at first. Include references to exchanges about the facilities where you interviewed, important follow up remarks such as, "I look forward to hearing from [person who will contact you about the position]", reminders of personal exchanges that took place in the interview, and comments such as, "I enjoyed our discussion regarding...". These comments demonstrate that you were engaged and interested in the discussion and will reinforce the memory of your conversation in your interviewer's mind.

Place the sentences into a logical order. This is your rough draft.

Copy the rough draft into a thank-you card (the final draft). Use your best handwriting.

Write the address and return address (in your best handwriting) on the thank-you card's matching envelope. Place the stamp on the envelope in the upper right hand corner, so that the stamp is lined up with the edge of the envelope.

Look for an understated, professional thank-you card from a stationary store. Your cards should be made from high-quality paper.
It is absolutely critical to use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling in your card.
