How to Remove the Philips Rear Projection Screen

They might look like complex devices, but rear projection televisions are actually quite simple. They are essentially large boxes which house a projector rather than a traditional television cathode. The projector shoots its display up onto a large sheet of plastic that simulates your television screen. Removing the screen of a Philips rear projection television is a quick and easy job.

Things You'll Need

• Screwdriver
• Pliers or adjustable wrench

Instructions

1. Carefully snap off the plastic frame around your screen. Lift it up from underneath it to pull off. If it does not come away easily, there is likely a screw around the edge holding it in place. Search for the screw and remove it.

2. Loosen the bolts or screws holding your screen in place. These can be found around the edge of the screen within a metal frame.

3. Carefully slide the screen out from its metal holder, taking care to avoid scratching the screen.
