How to Use Total Recorder With Pandora

How to Use Total Recorder With Pandora thumbnail
Total Recorder can record an Internet stream to disc.

With an Internet radio service like Pandora, you can't save the songs and play them back later. Total Recorder solves this problem. One of its many features is the ability to record an audio stream off the Internet and convert it into the file format of your choice. This way you can store tracks on an MP3 player, burn them to a CD or simply keep them on your computer for listening at your convenience.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Total Recorder desktop icon to launch it. Alternatively, click "Start," then "All Programs," and select Total Recorder from the programs list.

    • 2

Click "Options," then "Settings," then "Split" and check the box next to "Create a new track separator for new clip info during background recording" if you wish to have the recorded stream automatically split into tracks.

    • 3

Click "File," then "Open URL," and enter the URL of the Pandora stream you wish to record.

    • 4

Click the "Record" button to begin recording. Press "Stop" when you're finished.

    • 5

Click "Save As," then click "Save" if you're happy with the file format. If you wish to save to another file format, click the "Change" button, then click the "Audio" tab and check the box next to "Convert audio format to the one specified below." Select your preferred format, then click "OK" and click "Save."
