Instructions

    • 1

Line a large bowl with some cheesecloth. Set aside.

    • 2

Remove the stems from the fresh flowers of your choice--lavender, rose and lilac are all great choices. Set the buds of the flowers on a cutting board and roughly chop them with a sharpened chef's knife.

    • 3

Set 1 cup of the chopped flowers into the cheesecloth-lined bowl and add 2 cups of water to completely submerge them.

    • 4

Wrap the top of the bowl tightly with plastic wrap let the flowers soak overnight or up to 24 hours.

    • 5

Pull the cheesecloth up from the bowl by the corners and wring all the excess water from the cloth into a small saucepan.

    • 6

Bring the small amount of water to a simmer until enough water evaporates to leave 1 tsp. of the flower water.

    • 7

Allow the flower water to cool and pour it into a perfume bottle.
