How to Reset Service for a First Alert Carbon Monoxide Detector
First Alert makes smoke detectors as well as carbon monoxide (CO) detectors. These CO detectors are able to detect CO in the air and sound a warning to those within the home or building. Because carbon monoxide is an odorless and colorless gas, it is sometimes called a "silent killer." Open doors and windows to allow fresh air to enter the area.

Push the "Silence" button for five seconds to silence the alarm.

Repeat Step 2 as many times as needed. The alarm will continue to periodically go off as it senses an elevated level of CO. Once enough fresh air is in the area, the detector resets itself.
