Instructions

    • 1

Sit with your child in front of the computer and browse online coloring card providers. Select from websites, such as Free Printable Pages and Print Activities, which offer free printable birthday coloring pages. (Website addresses listed below).

    • 2

Ask your child to choose more than one coloring card. Suggest a coloring page with a Mom giving a Dad his birthday cake. Or, ask if your child likes the idea of giving Dad a birthday card with a puzzle, such as a maze, on it.

    • 3

Click on each coloring card your child likes to open the printable template. Download to your computer desktop or another easy-to-find location. Print the documents onto white or colored paper.

    • 4

Encourage your child to color the page, then glue it to a piece of colored construction paper. Use a three-hole-punch to punch three holes along the left side of the paper and through the left side of a second sheet of construction paper.

    • 5

Attach the two sheets of construction paper together by stringing yarn through each of the three common holes. Tie each piece of yarn into a bow.

    • 6

Open the card to the inside page. Ask your child to write a birthday note to his Dad and to sign the card. Suggest "Happy birthday, Dad!" and "Love, Bobbie."

Tips & Warnings

  • Print more than one copy of each page in case your child wants to make a second attempt.

  • Involve your child in the process of selecting paper colors and what to write on the card.
