The Saturn SL2 turn signal bulb can be changed at home.

If the turn signals on your Saturn SL2 burn out, they should be fixed immediately. Faulty turn signals can lead to an accident, and many states have laws against driving your vehicle with a faulty light. Choosing to do so may result in a citation from the local police. The three most common issues affecting turn signals are loose wiring, burned-out bulbs and broken fuses.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the engine, and open the hood. Use the flat-tip screwdriver to remove the push-pin fasteners from the grill assembly.

    • 2

Tilt the assembly forward, and lift it, to remove it from the vehicle. Use a socket wrench to remove the two fasteners on the headlamp assembly.

    • 3

Push the headlamp housing lever up to disengage the assembly from the vehicle. Pull on the electrical connector. If it comes out, securely plug it into the rear of the assembly.

    • 4

Rotate the turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise, to remove it from the assembly. Pull out the old bulb, and use a clean cloth to install the new bulb.

    • 5

Place the socket back into the vehicle, and rotate it, clockwise. Place the assembly back into the vehicle, and reconnect the electrical connector.

    • 6

Reattach the two fasteners and the push pins. If the headlights are still malfunctioning, there may be an issue with the turn signal fuse.

    • 7

Locate the under-hood fuse block on the driver's side of the vehicle. Remove the cover, and locate the fuse labeled "Park Lamp." This is the fuse for most of the exterior lights. If the metal inside the fuse is no longer in one solid piece, it will have to be replaced.

    • 8

Pull out the fuse, and replace it with an identical 20A fuse. Place the cover back onto the under-hood fuse block, and close the hood.
