How to Load a Motorcycle Into a Toyota Tacoma

Loading your motorcycle properly into the bed of a your Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck takes a little time, but is worth the effort in order to prevent damage to either your truck or motorcycle. A Toyota Tacoma is a mid-size pick-up truck and the bed is not long enough to close the tailgate once most motorcycles are loaded The process for loading and securing the bike will be the same for every motorcycle and can be done in about 15 minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Motorcycle ramp

Instructions

1. Place the motorcycle's engine into neutral. Push the motorcycle to the rear of the Tacoma and lower the tailgate.

2. Place the motorcycle ramp onto the edge of the tailgate. Push the motorcycle up the ramp and into the truck bed with the help from a friend.

3. Guide the front wheel to the right or left corner of the truck bed. Pull the rear wheel to the opposite corner so that the rear wheel is on the tailgate.

Tips & Warnings

• Secure the motorcycle with towing straps before you haul the motorcycle.
