Purchase a replacement tail light assembly or bulb from an auto parts store. Indicate what model scooter you have to get the appropriate one.

Position yourself behind your Bergman scooter and locate two small push-in rivets. There will be one on each side of the frame near the base by the side reflectors.

Remove the rivets with your hand or needle-nose pliers and put them to the side. Find the tabs on both sides of the lower frame. Press down on the tabs with your fingers and pull down firmly until you loosen the sides of the lower frame.

Find the main tab in the middle of the lower frame and push that tab down. Wiggle and pull on the frame until it loosens its grip. It may take some effort to get it to release.

Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts that hold your tail lights in place. Put the bolts to the side.

Wiggle the tail light loose until you can access the wiring connector in the back of it. Grab the wiring where it meets the assembly with your hand and pull the wiring away from the tail light assembly. Set the old assembly aside.

Put a new tail light assembly in its place. If you want to just replace the light bulb, grab the old bulb, turn it counterclockwise to remove it and tighten a new bulb in its place by turning it clockwise.

Connect the wiring to the back of the assembly. Line the lower frame up with the tabs in place, push the frame into the side tab holes, and then push the middle tab in until the frame snaps back into place. Put the rivets back into place.
