How to Turn Off the Talking Caller ID on a Panasonic (5 Steps)

Panasonic's talking caller ID function is available on most of its 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz phones. You can use this feature to screen your calls without having to check the small LCD display on your phone. When an incoming call is received, a voice will announce who owns the number. This feature can be convenient, but you may want to disable it when you have visitors or just don't want to be alerted.
Step 1
Lift the Panasonic handset from its base. You can disable caller ID from either the handset or the base.
Step 2
Press the "Menu" key, immediately key in "#-1-6-2-0" and then press the "Save" key.
Step 3
Turn off caller ID from the base by pressing "Menu," entering "#-*-1-6-2-0," and then pressing the "Save" key.
Step 4
Reactivate caller ID by entering the above codes on the handset or the base, but replace the "0" with a "1."
Step 5
Press the "Off" button to exit the phone's programming mode.
