Instructions for How to Pitch an Outbound Tent

Pitch your Outbound tent on a level terrain.

The Outbound company produces various pieces of equipment used for camping and backpacking. The tents from Outbound vary in size depending on the sleeping capacity and the intended use. The backpacking tent models feature the most simplistic and lightweight designs, and comfortably can sleep up to three hikers. According to Outbound, the backpacking tent also features the patented Easy Pitch design, which means the internal tent structure has been constructed for you.

1. Transport your Outbound tent to a level surface. Examine your designated camp site for any sharp objects that may damage the canvas material. Remove the components of the tent from its corresponding sack. Identify the two aluminum poles that have been broken down into smaller connecting pieces.

2. Locate the tent stakes found in a smaller bag. Unfold your Outbound tent. Insert each section of the pole into the adjacent piece to build your first pole. Repeat the construction process with the remaining pole to create a identical tent pole.

3. Locate the two entrances of your Outbound tent that feature a U-shaped doorway. Insert your first tent pole into a small sheath found on the bottom right side of the doorway. Thread the pole to stretch across the top of your tent. Fasten the ends of the pole into the corresponding loops found on the bottom of your tent.

4. Identify the small pole sheath located on the left side of the entrance. Thread the second pole into the sheath to complete the roof structure of your Outbound tent. Fasten the ends of the second pole into the correlating loops found on the bottom of the tent. Unfold the rain fly to activate the Easy Pitch construction. Place it over your newly constructed tent.

5. Locate the strings that hang down on either side of the rain fly. Extend the first string away from the rain fly. Place a stake through the loop found at the end of the string. Hammer the stake into the ground. Pull the second string tight and place a stake through the loop. Hammer the stake into the ground.

6. Repeat the process with the two strings on the opposing side of the rain fly. Identify the loop found on the bottom edge of the rain fly. Insert one stake through the loop and hammer the stake into the ground. Repeat the process on the opposing side of your rain fly to ensure the tent has been securely fastened to the ground.
