Insert two LR44 batteries in your Intermatic pool timer. The display will show "12:00 AM."

Press the reset button with the point of a pen. The reset button is in a small, round hole next to the keypad. Press and hold down the "ON/OFF" button and use the pen point to press the reset button for three seconds.

Set the correct time by turning the selector knob until you see the correct hour. Press "OK" to set the hour. Turn the selector knob to select the correct minutes and press "OK." Select the time zone, date and year and press "OK."

Program your events by pressing "Mode," and then the "PROG" button. Turn the selector knob to get the desired event setting such as "ON only" or "ON and DUSK." Press the "PROG" button to accept it. You will immediately see "DOW" (The days of the week) displayed on your Intermatic pool timer screen.

Pick a day that you want the event to occur. Turn the selector knob to the desired day, date and time and press the "PROG" button to accept the setting. Press "MODE" and choose the operating mode for your Intermatic pool timer such as "AUTO" or "Random." Plug in the timer after programming it. This will help to conserve batteries.
