A dirty windshield can significantly reduce your ability to see the road ahead, which could result in an accident. The windshield washer jets should be properly aligned so you can clean dirt and debris from the windshield while driving. You might need to adjust the alignment from time to time to ensure the jets spray properly. The job can be done in a few simple steps.

Step 1

Turn the key to the "ON" position. Run the windshield washer until it reaches maximum flow. Place masking tape on the inside of the windshield at the center of where the windshield washer fluid contacts the windshield.

Step 2

Insert a small standard screwdriver onto the wash jet and gently push the nozzle in the desired direction. Squirt the washers again and place masking tape at the new location where the fluid contacts the windshield.

Step 3

Adjust the wash jets as necessary until they are aligned in the center of the windshield. Aim them slightly lower than center so that the air passing over the windshield will push the flow into the center. Remove the masking tape.
