How to Get Rid of Acne in the Winter
Winter weather dries the skin and -- contrary to popular belief -- is bad for curing acne. During the winter, your skin lacks moisture, causing the oil glands to overproduce oil in an effort to moisturize the skin. As a result, acne forms as the oil mixes with the dry skin, clogging the pores. If you use the right products and follow the right skin-care regimen, you can get rid of your acne in the winter. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wash your face with a mild cleanser that contains moisturizing products, but not salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Try and limit your facial cleansing to twice a day -- once in the morning and once at night -- to prevent over-drying your skin.
-
2
Moisturize your face and neck with a water-based moisturizer. Try and choose a gel or lotion instead of a cream, as it is lighter and less likely to clog pores.

-
3
Apply only a little bit of topical treatment to your acne. Put on less treatment than you would during the summer to prevent drying out those areas.
