Explore the certificates you can obtain from Microsoft. If you need to, you can review the careers for which Microsoft certificates can help on the Microsoft "Start Your Career" site (see Resources). Microsoft offers different levels of certification. Each certificate requires different tests, and some concentrate on specific programs.

Review Microsoft's Certification Training Catalog before registering to take a Microsoft exam, in order to prepare training. You can purchase online training services for your certifications as well as reference books and classroom training. You can browse the exams offered by Microsoft from the training catalog. Once you are ready to schedule an exam, you must locate a branch or school which offers these certification programs. You can use the locator available directly from the Microsoft website to find a location near you (see Resources).

Enter your city and ZIP Code to find the nearest branch to test for a Microsoft certificate. The contact information will appear and you will be required to call the location for information on the test, including the cost and the time when it will take place. Schedule your test and prepare by studying and taking online training classes from Microsoft. Take your certification test and pass it to receive your Microsoft certificate in your specified field.
