Determine the amount of time needed to cook or bake an item by reading its package or recipe instructions.

Plan to boil eggs for four to six minutes for soft-cooked yolks, six to eight minutes for medium-cooked yolks, and 11 to 13 minutes for hard-cooked yolks, depending on the size of the eggs.
