Egg Timer Instructions

Egg timers can be as decorative as they are useful.

You can use egg timers when doing everything from boiling eggs to baking cookies. Traditional mechanical countdown egg timers feature a simple-to-use adjustable dial. You can also find timers in a wide variety of colors and patterns, such as polka-dots or stripes, to coordinate with your kitchen decor.

• Egg timer
• Food to be cooked (ex. eggs or cookie dough)

Instructions

1. Determine the amount of time needed to cook or bake an item by reading its package or recipe instructions.

2. Plan to boil eggs for four to six minutes for soft-cooked yolks, six to eight minutes for medium-cooked yolks, and 11 to 13 minutes for hard-cooked yolks, depending on the size of the eggs.

3. Set the egg timer for the desired amount of cooking or baking time by adjusting the turn dial with your hand.

4. When the egg timer goes off, remove the food item from your oven or stovetop.
