How to Design DVD Storage Binders
Without a storage solution for your DVD collection, your discs may begin to congregate in odd places around your home and form disorganized stacks rife with dust or animal hair. If a conventional DVD binder is too ho-hum to merit a place on your shelf, design your own storage solution. With a little effort and a few easy-to-come-by supplies, you can create a custom DVD holder that is a work of art in itself. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need

1
Purchase as many CD binder sheets as you need to hold your collection. Buy extra if you plan on acquiring more DVDs in the future. Bring the sheets with you when you pick out your three-ring binders to ensure that the binders are large enough to fully contain the pages.
-
2
Decide how you want to organize your DVDs. You could categorize them by year, separate them into genres or sort them alphabetically. You may need more or fewer binders depending on your organizational strategy.

3
Buy one or more rolls of thick wrapping paper that will not wrinkle or tear easily. Choose paper that coordinates with your room, reflects your own personal style or represents the genre in each binder.
-
4
Visit a craft supply store or the scrapbook section of a discount department store. Buy a few packs of adhesive scrapbook decals that mesh with the style of your wrapping paper. Make sure to get a packet or two of letter decals to label the spine of your binder.
-
5
Lay the wrapping paper face-down on a flat, protected surface. Use a pencil and a ruler to draw out the dimensions of the binder cover and spine.
-
6
Cut the paper using a craft knife.
-
7
Slip the pieces of wrapping paper behind the clear plastic sheeting on the front, back and spine of the binder.
-
8
Decorate the front cover of the binder with lettering and graphic decals. Avoid using too many decals; an overabundance of stickers could make the binder look haphazard and busy.
-
9
Label the spine of the binder using letters or a graphic decal that is representative of a specific genre.

Thanks Lynne. I have been able to locate some nifty cd/dvd binders from "Well Sorted Disc Storage Solutions" which can be personalised with children's name (or other title)and come in plain or assorted cartoon character designs. Saves doing the work myself as Im not too creative :) Aleisha
