How to Measure a Ball Bungee Cord

Ball bungee cords are loop-style bungees with the ends of the cord secured into a plastic ball. These self-enclosed and stretchy loops are often used to secure canopies to poles or anywhere else a loop-style hitch is required. Benefits of the bungee cord loop is the ability to stretch and move around corners or awkward layouts. Measuring a ball bungee is done when the cord is loose.

• Tailor's tape measure

Instructions

1. Set the ball bungee on a flat surface and let it regain to its at-rest position--there should be no stretch to the cord at all.

2. Set one end of the tailor measuring tape at the tip of one ball where the bungee cord enters it. Slide the tape along the cord until it reaches the end of the ball on the other side of the cord.

3. Measure the distance between the two balls where the cord ends enter the ball-shaped enclosure. This is the ball bungee length.
