How to Install a Micron-C Filter in a Honda Element

The micron-C filter, commonly called a cabin filter is located behind the glove box on the Honda Element. To access the housing the filter rests in, you must remove the glove box. Fortunately, Honda thought ahead and made it relatively easy and straightforward to remove the glove box. In fact, they made it so easy that no tools are required.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the glove box and empty out all of the contents.

    • 2

Push in on the sides of the glove box lid. The glove box has two pins that act as positive stops for the glove box lid. Pulling in on the side allows you to bypass the positive stops and push the glove box down to the floorboards.

    • 3

Locate the black plastic compartment behind the glove box. On the front of it, you will see a removable panel. Push in on the panel's locking tab and pull the panel off the compartment.

    • 4

Pull out the old micron filter and place the new filter into the box.

    • 5

Snap the panel back onto the face of the compartment.

    • 6

Push in on the sides of the glove box and close the lid on the glove box.
