How to Disassemble a 30 PMAG

The PMAG is an advanced magazine for the M16 assault rifle.

The Magpul Polymer Magazine (PMAG) fits the M16 series of assault weapons firing the 5.56 x 45 NATO round. This magazine has many advanced features, such as easy insertion into closed bolt weapons, and an anti-tilt follower that eliminates jamming and ensures feeding consistency. The standard magazine holds 30 rounds and comes with a clip-on impact cover for lengthy dust-free storage. The impact cover also doubles as a handy disassembling tool.

Things You'll Need

• 30-round PMAG magazine

Instructions

1. Place the clip-on lug of the impact cover or the nose of a round into the slot on the lock plate situated on the bottom of the magazine.

2. Slide the lock plate toward the front of the magazine and off the floor plate. Hold your thumb on top of the spring-loaded follower to prevent it from jumping out.

3. Remove the follower together with the attached spring.
