Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the Maytag dryer power cord from the wall outlet. If you have a gas dryer, go behind the dryer, and turn the gas valve perpendicular to the gas pipe. Although you are not working directly with gas, it is always safer to shut off the supply.

    • 2

Grab the sides of the dryer with both hands, and pull it 2 feet from the rear wall. This allows room to work behind the dryer without stressing the flexible gas line, if you have a gas dryer.

    • 3

If your clamp is a screw type, use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws securing the dryer vent hose clamp to the dryer exhaust port. If you have a spring clamp connecting the hose, use a pair of pliers to press the tabs together on the spring clamp, and slide the clamp away from the dryer.

    • 4

Pull the dryer vent hose away from the Maytag dryer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Maytag dryers come from the factory with the exhaust port in the rear.

  • Some Maytag dryers use rigid pipe instead of flexible hose. The removal process is the same.
