How to Change the Color of a White Bedroom Suite
Furniture colors are no longer limited to wood tones, black and white. A white bedroom suite looks fresh and elegant at first, but will eventually become dingy and even boring as years go by and styles change. Instead of buying a whole new bedroom suite, choose a favorite color to paint each piece of furniture in the set. Things You'll Need
- Fine-grade sandpaper
- Microfiber cloth
- Primer with sealer
- Paintbrush
- Latex paint in chosen color
- Paste furniture wax

Remove hardware from the furniture.

Sand the furniture well to remove the white paint and to prepare the surface.

Wipe the furniture down to remove any dust that remains after sanding, taking special care to remove dust from any crevices.

Prime the furniture using a primer that contains sealer. This type of product will say "sealer" on the label.

Brush on a latex indoor house paint, following the wood grain, and allow it to dry.

Apply a second coat of paint, and wait for it to dry and cure. The curing process takes about a week.

Sand the whole piece lightly with very fine sandpaper to smooth out the paint.

Apply a paste wax in a natural color. Rub it on the furniture, and buff it out. You may need more than one coat to achieve the desired shine.

The paint will look uneven until you sand it and apply wax.
