Instructions

    • 1

Remove the sponge from the unused bumper pads and donate them to nursing homes. They can be used to make cushioning to prevent bumps and bruises on bed rails.

    • 2

Make scrapbook covers with the printed material of the unused bumper pads. Cut the fabric off the foam. Use a tape measure to measure the scrapbook, and then mark off the same measurements onto the fabric, using a washable marker. Be sure to leave 2 to 3 inches of extra material. Place the scrapbook on top of the material and fold the sections of the materials at the four corners of the scrapbook into a triangular shape. Use glue to secure the four triangular corners to create a cover for your scrapbook.

    • 3

Cut unused bumper pads into even lengths. Stitch them together lengthwise to make a small blanket for a child.

    • 4

Make stuffed animals with unused bumper pads. Place a pattern of an animal on the bumper pad. Cut the patterns of the animal with an extra inch of material left over. Place one piece of the pattern over the other and stitch them together. Cut one inch of printed fabric and use it as a piping along the edges of the sewn areas. Use small pieces of foam from the bumper pads to fill out the stuffed animal and stitch the opening to close it.
